I would like to start with an apology— I promised to post several poems last week. I have them at the ready, and yet I did not. Why?
Because I experienced a petrifying haunting.
I was petrified by my lack of time, and haunted by a job. The time I haven’t been working I have been busy with friends, enjoying Independence Day, and relaxing with my wife. The poems will be up soon, and perhaps other things…
I have mentioned in the past starting up a YouTube channel. I have been workshopping, trying to pool together ideas (and pull together the time) to work on a few videos. I have come up with a format and release schedule to my liking: a video a week, a shorter feature, around 10-15 minutes or so. I would discuss what has been on my mind, and of course, talk about frogs. Maybe even tortoises (I fancy them too) although I don’t have one. All of this would be enjoyed with a nice pipe or cigar, and I could comment on the tobacco I am smoking that day. It would serve as the body to my blog posts perhaps, or go in tandem with them.
However, every once in a while I would like to work on a large project. Especially pertaining to literary figures and works. Perhaps a short documentary on the life and works of good ol’ Walker Percy will be my first. Or a video pertaining to the fascination Mark Twain had with Joan D’arc. This is all merely brainstorming of course. Feel free to reach out to me at coolfrogsblog@proton.me if you are interested in me moving over to a video format. Today I am smoking Cornell & Diehl’s Small Batch Carolina Red Flake with Perique. Perhaps my favorite tobacco blend ever. I purchased several tins during last year’s release. It is expertly blended and provides a smooth top note with a lingering, sparkling pepperiness that warms the palate and leaves you thinking.
